The Neck Check Guitar Tools Machined Edge 6061 Aluminum Straightedge is essential for proper truss rod adjustment. This straightedge is precision-machined for a flatness of +/- .001" and can be used with 21, 22, or 24 fret necks, regardless of whether the strings are on or off.

One side of the straightedge is designed for 25.5" (Fender) scale guitars, while the other side is for 24.75" (Gibson) scale guitars. The straightedge is notched to the 22nd fret, providing clearance for more frets and the nut on the other end, covering the entire length of the neck.

You can also place the straightedge on top of the frets (off the cut notches) to use it as a standard straightedge to check fret wear and level. If you're unsure of the scale length of your guitar, you can measure from the edge of the nut (headstock) to the center of the 12th fret. The measurement should be approximately 12 3/4" (Fender) or 12 3/8" (Gibson) +/- 1/16".

Neck Check Guitar Tools makes notched straightedges for a wide variety of guitars and basses, including 25.5" (Fender) and 24.75" (Gibson) scale length guitars, as well as vintage Gibson 24 5/8" scale guitars and most electric guitars.

The straightedge is made of 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum, making it lighter in weight than stainless steel tools but still very rigid. With a thickness of 1/8" (3.2mm), the machined edges of this straightedge are superior to cheaper import tools, ensuring a high level of flatness.

Neck Check Guitar Tools is the original provider of these straightedges on Amazon, and they have been in the business for 10 years, demonstrating their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

In summary, the Neck Check Guitar Tools Machined Edge 6061 Aluminum Straightedge is an essential tool for guitar maintenance and setup, offering precise measurements and a durable, lightweight design for a wide range of guitar models. Its high-quality construction and attention to detail make it a reliable choice for guitar technicians and enthusiasts alike.
